Congratulations Maryanne. Very well deserved. And far more meaningful (sadly) than the Australia Day Awards which appear to be an opportunity for the politically connected (and incompetent) to reward themselves . Such an insult to those who have been awarded the accolade for genuine sacrifice , achievement or contribution.

Agree, I was just saying this the other day...

Oh YES ! Official Aus Day Awards....just pay-offs for the brown nose brigade, toadys and tossers !

Maryanne Demasi, PhD's avatar

Lol! JB, I thought of you when I received the award today.

01/26/26: What, The "Kamala Kangaroo Awards"? ("Name an animal that has a higher IQ than the 2024 American presidential candidate." Trick question! There are no animals whose IQ is lower than...)

Well done Maryanne, so well deserved. Between you and the midwestern doctor I am kept completely up to date on all matters of health (and corruption!). Thank you for all you do.

01/26/26: The intrepid doctors Jill and Robert Malone also deserve mention (many others do as well, but let's not overturn the canoe).

SO very deserving. We are so proud and honoured to be part of your community with access to your meticulous research, writing, heart and soul. It nourishes, affirms, vindicates and teaches us all.

Thank you 🙏

Congratulations Maryanne.

I only discovered ASF a few months ago courtesy of Bettina Arndt's Substack and went to their Sydney conference late last year.

After 40 years of attending heavily sponsored medical conferences, I can honestly say it was the best academic conference I have ever attended.

Keep up the good work!

Wow, that's a great endorsement. I missed the last one as I just got back from overseas...

Fantastic and so well deserved. Your excellent and clearly written assessments are now widely available across the world including in the UK. Congratulations from me and all at the HARTgroup.

Maryanne Demasi, PhD's avatar

Thanks so much Ros, big hug.

Maryanne you are now a bonafide Science and Journalism Rock Star. So well deserved. And thank you SFA for recognising a great Australian. ANZAC Spirit in a lab coat with a typewriter. Great job!

Now it really is a worthwhile Australia Day! Such excellent news. P.S. The only really worthwhile awards IMO are those one does not apply for.

Congratulations Maryanne. Your perspectives and writing are superb. And how do you keep going with all the prevailing counter-forces and lack of acknowledgement?

Maryanne Demasi, PhD's avatar

Head down, bum up 😳

01/26/26: We here at the Institute For Translations of Aussie Into Swahili are utterly stumped with this one.

Great work Maryanne and congratulations. I’ve been following you since the Statin days and very much appreciated your insights and courage to hold truth as first despite the bullying from the ideologues and big pharma.

Maryanne Demasi, PhD's avatar

Thanks Will, glad those days are behind me ☺️

Wonderful words in appreciation of your skills to analyse, rationalise and pinpoint how science needs to be done and reported and how lacking this approach is

You are the best MaryAnne

Thanks 🙏

A big and deserving congratulations to you Maryanne! 42 c is too hot for me but sounds really good right now. This morning it’s -13c with anywhere from 40-60 cm of snow that fell in the GTA. We’ve been having a not normal winter. It is so nice you’ve been recognized for your trusted reporting. In this day and age it’s comforting to have the selfless people who tell it like it really is.

Maryanne Demasi, PhD's avatar

I heard about the cold snap. A friend in Boston said it was snowing there too…. So pretty. 🤩

I enjoyed shoveling it this morning, Vivien--so invigorating! And when my dog Banjo and I went for our morning walk afterwards we had almost the whole street to ourselves, hardly a car in sight! He was elated!

This is so great, MD, wow. Congratulations: So well deserved. But how can I relay to friends? I could not locate an easy URL to send to them. Even on the ASF website, on Australia Day, could not find an easy link. Cheers, Dr Greg Yates in Adelaide.

Maryanne Demasi, PhD's avatar

Thank you Greg, I will forward you the email....presumably they will update their website soon.

Such good news on such a hot day!

Congratulations, Maryanne! Well deserved and a good sign for freedom of speech! I have sent you an email regarding the republishing of one of your texts, can you look into that asap, please? Best greetings from Germany, Markus Frieauff

Thanks Markus, just saw the email and responded. 🙏
