MSM is in terminal decline. X is the platform if you want breaking, uncensored news. If you want long form analysis, Substack is where you need to be. Won't be shedding any tears for the demise of legacy media.

Completely agree! CNN's coverage was just a disgrace. They can see the writing on the wall regarding the upcoming November election and cannot accept it. But with the plummeting viewership of legacy media, they are slowly dying, and let's all be thankful for that.
I was happy to cancel my subscriptions to the SMH, Saturday Paper, The Guardian, WaPo and NYT and stop wasting my time on ABC News and switch to getting my news on X and reading and supporting you and other independent journalists Maryanne. I’ve never been better informed and I marvel at how ignorant most of the general public is about what’s really going on in the world and why.

In the first minutes I thought they were just struggling to verify what had happened. Then as time went on the headlines and commentary were continually being updated as they worked it out. I imagine the newsrooms would have been leery of making a premature call and then being caught out. Even witnesses at first were talking about firecracker like noises. Nobody knew what had happened.
I wondered the same thing, Michael. Was it out of an abundance of caution? I decided it wasn't since over an hour later CNN still had not updated its headlines after it was clear what had happened....
WP was updated quite frequently Maryanne, and even an hour is not unreasonable to make a big judgement call as an organisation. A lot easier for us individuals. Are we expecting too much in the age of 24/7 media?
I suppose it's only my opinion but I have worked in a busy news room and I don't reckon its expecting too much from them. They would know what happened almost instantly. I saw multiple CNN reporters on the ground at the rally and everyone heard Secret Service agents saying, “Shooter's down” as they ushered Trump off the stage. If the reporters on the ground at the rally genuinely did not know what was happening, I reckon that's pretty poor. As I watched the events unfold, it was clear within minutes that there was a shooter, that the shooter was aiming at Trump, that Trump did not "fall" on stage and that his speech was not "interrupted" by Secret Service. Anyway, that's how I, and many others, assessed the situation - everyone will view it differently I suppose.

Let’s see with the next debate. Some are saying Trump donated to Harris 2011 campaign funding - haha!
I think first woman POTUS and CHOICE will bring out many optional voters and if Republican votes leak to Kennedy - Trump may struggle. Primaries don’t necessarily reflect secret ballot actuals as they are family/friends public events in heading for a candidate corner
Amen to that. Sky provided a running commentary. Outsiders just did their whole show on it. To be frank I would not bother with anyone else. I long ago cancelled my subscription to the Oz, MSM media are morally bankrupt and not worth watching. I am shocked that such a dreadful event was misreported. I am devastated that people were killed and injured. I am a Trump supported and am horrified that anyone would try to kill him. Such a brave man.
I got something giving me the name of one of the Secret Service snipers on the roof protecting the president. Close to 3 minutes before the shooting he spoke in to say he had a shooter on a roof and would take him out and he was ordered not to shoot. These SS snipers are comptetent and were aware and as of now someone in authority told him not to shoot.
This would have to be confirmed. The info came from someone who knows these SS men and gave the name.
