How disappointing that the so called people’s party, Labor, has sold out everyday Australians, to suck up

to the unelected UN and to censor freedom of speech. Every time Albanese throws in the word ‘Democracy’ I nearly throw up. What a traitor to the people. Where is the Royal Commission into Covid? The Australian voters will not forget. Federal Labor will not be re-elected.

Fair point. I read and follow the people who are fighting for the freedoms we all should enjoy. But no one’s breaking from the party script. Until we vote in someone that can change all that has/will happen, then the party line gets to choose.

I think it is important to reach all the Senators too. I am sure that a lot of them haven't even read the Bill in its entirety. Plus the labour govt rams through controversial bills like this not to just avoid public scrutiny but also to avoid proper scrutiny by MP's and Senators. I remember watching Sky News interview Sen Lambie about this Bill some time ago, and she admitted that she had not read the Bill's details however based on something in it (I've forgotten what it was) she did say she was going to reject this Bill. I hope she hasn't changed her mind.

Sad to see the wheel of history turn as Australia retrogrades back to its roots as a penal colony.

I have an awful sense of dread at what may befall us. I’ve been to a freedom of speech rally, signed petitions, written a submission to Parliament, prayed, and shared information on social media. What more can we do? How will we get justice for all those killed and injured from the vaccines, and protect more people from further mRNA harm if we have our speech curtailed?

Interesting that this mob wants to control speech and information but virtually open slather on gambling advertising !

This definitely has Orwellian overtones !

This legislation may possibly be used as a double dissolution trigger !

After what we saw in the US prez race, I'm not so sure that's a "good strategy".

The government is the leading source of disinformation in society. Are they going to be censoring themselves?

Conveniently, the government is exempt.

And, unsurprisingly, no party has evinced the slightest interest in changing that.

This government overreach is already in action here in the UK! They’re just passing any ol’ law that suits the UN’s globalist race toward the age old goal of a one world dictatorship. Goodbye to personal & National sovereignty! Well, not literally as we’ll forever oppose & expose them at every turn🙏

I have been hearing a lot lately on tv about the misinformation on social media. Hmm I thought. Is this a build up to controlling speech on social media? Prime the people to more readily accept censorship. Push the dangers of not doing so.

I've heard the Bill is up to six Senators now. Does anyone know if this is correct, and the names of all the Senators?

I think key votes come from Jacqui Lambie, Tammy Tyrrell, David Van, David Pocock, Lidia Thorpe, and Fatima Payman.

Here’s a crazy idea: if people really are clamoring to be saved from exposure to “misinformation”, they can save themselves by not looking at “social media”.

But, of course, there’s no such clamor. The conclusion, therefore, is that politicians are doing something their constituents are not asking for and do not want, which directly implies that the politicians are acting against the interests and desires of the public. And the only possible conclusion is that this is a result of the corrosive corruption that is so much a part of Australian public life.

Having the government tell you what you are allowed to say is just plain evil. It is far more dangerous to have them decide what is misinformation and disinformation then it is to actually have misinformation and disinformation. That is, the "cure" is much more dangerous than the "problem". It is obvious that this can and will be abused constantly to silence dissent of anyone going against a government narrative. It is a tool of tyranny. People are smart enough to do their own research and decide. No one needs or wants this kind of law except the government politicians who want more control.
