A win for the good guys ! Another blow for legacy media.

I hope they were or will be awarded substantial damages as well. It takes enormous courage and fortitude to pursue this kind of litigation. The financial and personal costs are significant. I’m thrilled that justice was done in this case. So often it is not.

They are discussing damages and costs now. I am told the amount will remain confidential, but I have a sense it is significant. I'm glad this sets an important precedent.

This needs to be publicized more widely but sadly it isn't and probably won't.

After checking the ABC online, Guardian Australia, BBC sites and Reuters I come up with a big fat zero on both their names. So much for legacy media.

If it's not on the mainstream news at all then it didn't happen - depressing really.

Thank you Maryanne

Agree, another legacy media fail. But given that ABC defamed me on this exact topic, I doubt the network will be covering it.

Thanks Maryanne. It’s so good to see evidence-based science wining out over pro-orthodoxy infotainment, masquerading as journalism. Too bad it happens so seldom.

Moving forward it looks like this sort of vindication is bound to happen more and more as evidence based science is coming to the fore. It is happening with respect to climate alarmism and child sex change therapy both of which are based on junk science. The appointments of many of Trump’s nominees should help legitimize evidence based science in many fields from which it has been drowned out or banished.

Let’s hope 🤞

In the past a certain section of the Press were known as the "gutter press". The implication being that this only related to a percentage of journalists. In recent times, and particularly in the last 5 years, the vast majority of the mainstream media seem to have fallen under this category.

A number of years ago now, I believe in 2012, my own profession, chiropractic, was subjected to a gutter press attack, which the major professional association in our country took the journalist to task, through the courts. At each level, the courts found for the chiropractic association, but each time the journalist appealed to a higher court, and each time he, (supported by his newspaper) lost, until it got to the High Court, and there, inexplicably, the journalist won, causing the payment of considerable damages to be made by the association.

So this journalistic sculduggery has been going on for a long time. Let's hope that, with this ruling, together with the likes of Robert Kennedy Jr. and Jay Bhattacharya being appropriately placed in their respective organisations, the likelihood of such scandalous accusations happening again is severely diminished.

Yes, during my time in mainstream media, it was standard practice—indeed, it was expected—to disregard "alternative" medical perspectives on the grounds that they lacked evidence. At least, that was the justification. However, when I began to critically examine and challenge the assumptions of "establishment" medicine, I quickly found myself persona non grata.

Well you raise another method that has always been executed by Big Pharma, and hence, in tandem, the MSM: the denigration of what they, and they alone, called "alternative" or "complimentary" medicines. The words are used deliberately, to be derisory and secondary to what they see as mainstream medicine.

There is and never has been anything "alternative" to knowing the human anatomy, physiology, neurology and pathology, as well as, and in many cases, particularly now, much better than those employed in what has been called "mainstream medicine".

However, because those of us in the world of chiropractic and indeed osteopathy, do not require drugs, to successfully treat our patients, we are deemed to be the anathema of health, as seen by the powerful Big Pharma, when in actual fact, treating a patient, in such a way that one facilitates the body to help itself, is much more mainstream, historically. Whereas, getting a patient to pop numerous pills, with little positive effect, is, in reality where the real alternative medicine is!

The different standards applied is astounding, if someone has pharmaceutical cancer treatments and doesn't survive the treatment isn't blamed because it failed but if a persons chooses a more natural alternative then that's why it was unsuccessful.

As always thank you

Maryanne

The key thing here is that the MSM no longer "report" (like you do) on an issue, and instead indulge in the opportunity to state how they would like things to be. Which inevitably is nearly always in alignment to the distorted and mostly false view on the subject from their fellow Leftists. And too bad if, as here, it trashes reputations or is a complete lie.

Unfortunately none of us have the power to alter science and reality - it just is. But the Left continue to believe that science is like a vending machine, you put in your money, press the view you want, and, hey presto, out it comes.

There is a place for opinion and I am always interested to see what others think, but the MSM have totally blurred the line between reporting and opinion.

We need REPORTING to become the primary function once again of all news services.

Such a great outcome and vindication for Dr Kendrick and Dr (PhD) Harcombe. Grubby sensation seeking journalists will hopefully take heed and think twice before engaging in shoddy journalism. Next up, an apology from the ABC for their damning treatment of you following those two Catalyst television programs.

Ah, if only I had the funds, I would take those clowns (ABC) to the cleaners! But alas, it would ultimately be taxpayer dollars if the ABC coughed up 😩

Australian courts/tribunals are rigged. It's rare to get any form of real justice. Even when the "right" person wins, they lose with all the out of pocket expenses that you never get reimbursed for, and all the emotional grief you go through.
